I was born in 1981 in Richmond, Virginia to a creative family whose parenting style allowed for me to play, roam and explore the world mostly unfettered by the constant supervision of adults. Growing up in the 80's and 90's, I was allowed to experience the physical world mostly unchained to computer technologies, and my only connection to home if I was on my own was a landline at a friends house, or the iron dinner bell in my parents back yard that one could hear for about five blocks.

From a very early age I had a connection with tactile learning, and spent most of my free time, as I do now as an adult, by myself, creating things by hand , and getting lost in the intimate process of exploring the possibilities of a given material.

In 2000, I graduated from Open High School, and moved to Baltimore, Maryland to attend the Maryland Institute College of Art where I studied for four years, and received my BFA in Fiber in May of 2004.

From that time to the present I have maintained a diverse artistic practice that spans across many craft based media in many sizes and formats, and I am wholly dedicated to creation as a life path.
